PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Since 1859, Shellharbour Public School has provided quality education for local students of all religious affiliations, nationalities and income brackets.  We focus on ensuring that all students perform to the best of their abilities in the enabling Key Learning Areas of English and Mathematics, whilst also seeking to provide real opportunities for our students to apply new knowledge in the other subject areas.  We also believe that schools should offer social as well as intellectual leadership.  An acceptance of this role means we base our day to day dealings with students and parents on a set of values characterised by integrity, excellence, respect, responsibility, cooperation, fairness, democracy and care.  Students not only learn about these values but are expected to enact them.  In a world that is eager to amplify the differences that set people apart, our school continues to reinforce these values and the shared aspirations that bind us together.  At Shellharbour Public School we view education as a shared responsibility between parents, the community and the school.  Relationships embodied by the contribution of these groups are fundamental to our success, so we welcome your involvement in our school.  Our students are not arriving on horseback anymore and they are being prepared for a world very different to the one they entered in the 1850’s.  What has not changed, however, is the commitment of the people who work in this public school to providing local children with the best primary education possible; one that equips them with the academic and life skills to create the future they imagine.
