The Shellharbour Public
School P & C meets once a month on the second
Thursday of the month commencing at 6.30 pm in the
staffroom. The P
& C encourages all parents to come along to meetings, as
it’s a wonderful way to know what is happening at your
child’s school and meet the teachers, staff and other
parents.
The P
& C runs the school canteen with the help of a
sub-committee called the “Canteen Committee.” This
committee is made up of canteen volunteers and parents
from the school.
Recently the P & C have use funds raised from the
markets and canteen to fund or purchase items such as:

Installed air conditioning to Kinder & Year 1 Class
Rooms (installation program ongoing)

Purchase of new gym mats

Contributed to Installation of large COLA area over
basketball courts

Upgraded Canteen cooking & security facilities

Provided $1000 of resources to every class room in
the school

Contributed to provision of covered walkways around
various areas of the school

Provided whiteboards for several classrooms (upgrade
program ongoing)

Furnished & carpeted Science & Technology Room

Intercom system throughout the school - $15 000

Big screen & projector for the hall - $9 000
Previous Purchases:

$3000 colour printer for students to use in the
computer laboratory

Reading stations outside the infants classrooms
which allows students and the reading helpers a more
comfortable and organised area to conduct home
reading

Commercial front door to create a safer and better
appearance to the front of the the school
-
Extension to the sports shed to allow more room for
equipment and for equipment to be organised so
students and teachers can find equipment quickly and
allow more time for sports activities

Side extension to both sides of the school to allow
hall chairs to be stored and create more room for
the students in the hall

Installed a new radio microphone system in the hall,
which is used for assemblies and stage productions
such as movie game, trivia night and the variety
show

Fund the busses that transported our Wakkakirri
troupe to the Sydney Finals and the Sydney
Entertainment Centre

The building of a multi purpose sports court and
fencing
-
Construction of 2 cricket pitches and fencing

The
P & C are currently working with two Ministries, the
Ministry of Communication – the P & C are funding a
large sign for the front of the school which will
advertise such things as meetings, special events
etc. The other Ministry is the Ministry for the
environment – the P & C are funding a memorial
garden, which will be landscape and become a special
place for students, staff and families to remember
the people who we have loved and lost
The P
& C encourages all parents to join the P & C as a lot of
extra resources for the students, staff and families
have been provided by the P & C. It’s a great way to
become involved in your child’s school and meet new
friends. |
