Year One and Year Two went to visit the Minnamurra Rainforest. Here is a recount written by Joel.
We started our bus trip at 9:45 and arrived there at 10:15am. On the bus I sat at the back where it was very bumpy. I sat beside Finbar and Kaan.
When we arrived we had a talk with the rangers. They talked about the rules and the animals in the rainforest. Then we had to put our bags down because we were told to go to the toilet. After that we had recess. Next we went to the education room and watched a movie about the environment and the animals.
Later we went on the board walk. On the way we saw three lyre birds and two water dragons. I thought they were very interesting to see. When we went a little further we saw lots of swimming bugs. The ranger told us they were swimming backwards. They looked like tiny little cockroaches swimming in the water.
We also walked on a wobbly bridge. It was probably the best bridge I have ever walked on. I felt very good for the whole excursion. I liked this excursion because I learned a lot about mini beasts and not to destroy the environment, because the ranger showed us some writing on the trees and rocks that other people had done.
