Clean Up Little Park

What a superb effort Shellharbour Public School once again put into cleaning up Little Park on Sunday!  Over 50 enthusiastic students and parents turned up on a beautiful sunny morning.  We were pleasantly surprised to find less rubbish than was expected in the park area, perhaps last year’s cleanup cleared most of the long term rubbish from there.  We all fanned out along the rocks and the rubbish bags suddenly began to bulge!  Car parts, drink bottles, cups, fishing line, straws, plastic bags, drink cans and even a car tyre were retrieved from many a hiding place amongst the rocks.  Jake Mather came close to getting a job as a miner when he disappeared down a hole between some rocks and emerged with a treasure trove of  rubbish. An hour and a half of hard work resulted in a large number of bags being filled.  My sincerest thanks to all parents and students who gave their time to this worthy cause, it makes our world a better place.
